Cartridge Refilling for Printers and MFPs
Laser and inkjet cartridge refilling for printers and MFPs, including cartridge, CISS, and ink supply system servicing. Refilling is performed at the service center or on-site in Almaty, including when servicing several cartridges or office equipment at the same time.
Laser Cartridge Refilling
Monochrome and color laser cartridges for A4 printers and MFPs are refilled. Original, starter, and compatible cartridges designed for continued use after the toner has run out can be refilled repeatedly. Toner containers used in the corresponding laser equipment are also serviced separately.
The toner type is selected based on the model and printing technology. Hi-Black toner selected for the specific cartridge type and printing technology is used for refilling. Before refilling, spent toner is removed and the internal components provided for by the cartridge design are cleaned. The cartridge is then filled with the required amount of toner.
The cartridge condition is assessed before any additional work is performed. If wear of the working components may affect print quality, refilling alone may not be sufficient. Replacement of such components falls under cartridge restoration .
Urgent on-site refilling is available for certain models. If no additional work is required, the approximate service time is 15 minutes.
What Is Included in Laser Cartridge Servicing
After several operating cycles, spent toner accumulates inside the cartridge, internal surfaces become contaminated, and working components gradually wear out. These factors may affect image density, fill uniformity, background shading, and other print defects.
During servicing, the cartridge and waste toner hopper are cleaned, remnants of the previous consumable are removed, and the condition of the main working components is checked. After cleaning, the cartridge is refilled with toner appropriate for the cartridge and the printing technology in use.
Working components include the photoconductor drum, wiper blade, magnetic roller, charge roller, and other components specified by the design of the particular model. If any of them is worn to a degree that may affect the printing result, separate replacement is required.
Replacement of worn components and other restoration work are not included in the refilling price . This is a separate service because its scope depends on the cartridge design and the actual condition of its components.
Inkjet Cartridge and CISS Refilling
Refillable cartridges and reservoirs of continuous ink supply systems (CISS) for A4–A3 inkjet printers and MFPs are refilled. The refilling method depends on the cartridge or CISS design and the type of ink used. InkBank ink compatible with the specific inkjet system and consumable in use is used for refilling and topping up.
The required ink level is restored during refilling. If the system has been operated for an extended period with a low ink level or has remained unused, the condition of the ink lines, ink supply system, and printhead is additionally assessed.
When necessary, the ink is completely replaced after the system has been flushed. This may be required, for example, when switching to a different consumable or when remnants of the previous ink need to be removed from the ink lines and reservoirs.
The continued usability of refillable cartridges also depends on their condition. If the cartridge design or condition does not allow proper refilling, the cartridge must be replaced or restored separately.
CISS and Ink Supply System Servicing
Inkjet printing problems are not always caused by empty reservoirs. Even when ink is available, printing may be affected by clogged nozzles, air in the ink lines, a contaminated printhead, or disrupted ink delivery.
To resolve such problems, nozzle cleaning and printhead flushing are performed. If ink delivery is disrupted, the hoses may also be purged and flushed, air is removed from the ink lines, and other necessary procedures are carried out.
When necessary, errors are reset and maintenance counters are reset. Replacement of the absorber, "diaper", absorbent pad, and other components with a limited service life may also be required.
If the problem is related to the printhead itself, the paper feed mechanism, electronics, or another assembly of the printer or MFP, CISS servicing will not resolve the fault. In such cases, the device itself requires diagnostics and repair.
When Refilling Alone Is Not Enough
Refilling addresses one specific task — replenishing toner or ink. It does not eliminate worn cartridge components or faults in the printer or MFP.
Some printer models use software-based monitoring of consumable status. After refilling, a cartridge may remain in a "toner empty" state or require confirmation that the consumable has been replaced, even when it has physically been refilled. Depending on the model, restoring normal operation may require resetting the counter, changing settings, or printer firmware service .
If streaks, background shading, recurring marks, uneven image density, or other defects remain after refilling, the cause may be related to the cartridge's working components. For laser models, these may include the photoconductor drum, wiper blade, magnetic roller, charge roller, or another worn component.
In inkjet equipment, the cause may be clogged nozzles, disrupted ink delivery, air in the ink lines, the condition of the printhead, or an overflowing absorber.
If resolving the problem requires replacement of worn cartridge components, the work falls under cartridge restoration. If the fault is located in the printer or MFP itself, the equipment requires repair or technical maintenance.
On-Site Cartridge Refilling
Laser cartridge refilling and CISS servicing are available on-site in Almaty. This option is suitable for servicing several cartridges, office equipment, and continuous ink supply systems when transporting equipment or a large quantity of consumables is inconvenient.
CISS ink top-up is performed directly on-site. Urgent on-site refilling is available for certain laser cartridges. The approximate service time is 15 minutes if the cartridge design allows the work to be completed without restoration or replacement of worn components.
How Much Does Cartridge Refilling Cost?
The cost depends on the cartridge type, the toner or ink used, and the design and condition of the consumable.
- Black-and-white laser cartridge refilling from 2 500 ₸
- CISS ink top-up for an inkjet printer (100 ml) 1 500 ₸
- On-site service for 1–10 cartridges 2 000 ₸
- On-site service for 11 or more cartridges Free
The cost of color laser cartridges and individual models with complex designs is determined based on the specific model. If replacement of worn components, cartridge restoration, or additional inkjet system servicing is required, such work is calculated separately.
Printer firmware service, removal of software restrictions, and other work related to software-based consumable monitoring are not included in the refilling price and are calculated separately depending on the device model.
